सुख में सुमिरन सब करें, दुख में करे न कोय।
जो सुख में सुमिरन करे, तो दुख काहे को होय॥

Everyone remembers God in times of sorrow, but few do so in times of happiness.
Kabir says — if you remember God even during happy times,
sorrow will never find a reason to visit you.

Man is a selfish creature. When he enjoys days of success, he rarely remembers God. But when difficulties arise, he runs here and there—often to astrologers—seeking solutions.

Instead, if a person remembers God even when life is good, he will never face real problems at all.

Therefore, here are some sacred shlokas to help you remember God always and make devotion a natural daily habit.

According to Hinduism, the world is Maya — an illusion. Within this illusion, one must navigate wisely without losing their true self. This means preserving the divinity that resides within.

To achieve this, it is essential to chant these sacred shlokas daily without fail.

Remember, the world is but an illusion. Each morning when you awaken, you step into a new version of this illusion. If you want this illusion to be beneficial throughout the day, chant this shloka as soon as you wake up. Do it before doing anything else.

On Waking

कराग्रे वसते लक्ष्मिः करमध्ये सरस्वति ।
करमूले तु गोविन्दः प्रभाते करदर्शनम् ॥

karāgre vasate lakṣmiḥ karamadhye sarasvati .
karamūle tu govindaḥ prabhāte karadarśanam ..

At the fore of the hands resides Lakshmi. At the middle is Saraswathi. At the root is seated Govinda. Therefore, see the palm of the hand at dawn (first).

before Putting your Step first time on the floor

समुद्रवसने देवि पर्वतस्तनमण्डले ।
विष्णुपत्नि नमस्तुभ्यं पादस्पर्शं क्षमस्वमे ॥

samudravasane devi parvatastanamaṇḍale .
viṣṇupatni namastubhyaṃ pādasparśaṃ kṣamasvame ..

O Goddess, dressed with the oceans. You are bedecked at the front with mountains. I bow to Thee, O consort of Vishnu. Please excuse my touching you with my feet.

Whenever You take Bath chant this shloka

गोविंदेति सदा स्नानं गोविंदेति सदाजपं ।
गोविंदेति सदा ध्यानं सदा गोविंद कीर्तनम् ॥

goviṃdeti sadā snānaṃ goviṃdeti sadājapaṃ .
goviṃdeti sadā dhyānaṃ sadā goviṃda kīrtanam ..

Forever shall be bathing with Govinda chant. Forever shall be praying with Govinda chant. Forever shall be meditating with Govinda chant. Forever there shall be Govinda chant.

purify the water which you take the bath

गङ्गे च यमुने चैव गोदावरि सरस्वति ।
नर्मदे सिन्धु कावेरि जलेऽस्मिन् संनिधिं कुरु ॥

gaṅge ca yamune caiva godāvari sarasvati .
narmade sindhu kāveri jale’smin saṃnidhiṃ kuru ..

Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswathi, Narmada, Sindhu, Kaveri, May all these have a holy confluence in this water.

on Your first vision of the Surya

आदित्यहृदयं पुण्यं सर्वशत्रुविनाशनम्।
जयावहं जपेन्नित्यं अक्षयं परमं शिवम्॥

Āditya hṛdayaṁ puṇyaṁ sarva-śatru-vināśanam,
Jayāvahaṁ japennityaṁ akṣayaṁ paramaṁ śivam

Āditya hṛdayam puṇyam — The sacred hymn to the Sun (Āditya) is most auspicious.

Sarva-śatru-vināśanam — It destroys all enemies, both outer and inner.

Jayāvaham japennityam — By chanting it daily, one attains victory.

Akṣayam paramaṁ śivam — It bestows eternal peace and supreme well-being.

Chanting the Aditya-Hridayam (the meditation of Sun in the heart) is very auspicious. It is highly beneficial. You will be victorious in battle. This holy hymn dedicated to the Sun-God will result in destroying all enemies and bring you victory and permanent happiness.

ॐ भूर् भुवः स्वः तत् सवितुर्वरेण्यं
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्॥

oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ tat saviturvareṇyaṃ
bhargo devasya dhīmahi dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt..

Om, Pervading the Bhu Loka (Earth – consciousness of the physical plane). Bhuvar Loka is Antariksha, the intermediate space. It is the consciousness of prana. Swar Loka is the sky and heaven. It is the consciousness of the divine mind. That Savitur (Savitri, divine essence of the Sun) is the most adorable. I meditate on that divine effulgence. May that awaken our intelligence (spiritual consciousness).
