Morning Prayers

शुक्लाम्बरधरं विष्णुं शशिवर्णं चतुर्भुजम् ।
प्रसन्नवदनं ध्यायेत् सर्वविघ्नोपशान्तये ॥

śuklāmbaradharaṃ viṣṇuṃ śaśivarṇaṃ caturbhujam .
prasannavadanaṃ dhyāyet sarvavighnopaśāntaye

For the pacification (and elimination ) of all obstructions pray toVishnu who is clothed in dazzling fashion of purity, possessing the brilliance of the moon, sporting four arms, ever-happy and pleasant-faced

त्वमेव माता च पिता त्वमेव
त्वमेव बंधुश्च सखा त्वमेव ।
त्वमेव विद्या द्रविणम् त्वमेव
त्वमेव सर्वं मम देव देव ।

tvameva mātā ca pitā tvameva .
tvameva bandhuśca sakhā tvameva
tvameva vidyā draviṇaṃ tvameva .
tvameva sarvaṃ mama devadeva ..

You are the mother. You are the father. You are the relative. You are the friend. You are education. You are wealth. You are everything for me, O Lord. O Lord.

कायेन वाचा मनसेंद्रियैर्वा बुध्यात्मना वा प्रकृतेः स्वभावात् ।
करोमि यद्यत् सकलं परस्मै नारायणायेति समर्पयामि ॥

kāyena vācā manaseṃdriyairvā budhyātmanā vā prakṛteḥ svabhāvāt .
karomi yadyat sakalaṃ parasmai nārāyaṇāyeti samarpayāmi ..

Whatever I do, either by body, speech, mind, or sensory organs, I surrender and submit all. Whether it is with my personal knowledge or natural trait, I give everything to the supreme divine Narayana.

ॐ असतो मा सद्गमय । तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय ।
मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय । ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः ॥

asato mā sadgamaya tamasomā jyotir gamaya
mrityormāamritam gamaya Oṁ śhānti śhānti śhāntiḥ

Lead me from the unreal to the real, lead me from darkness to light, lead me from death to immortality.

offer You food to god before Partaking

ब्रह्मार्पणं ब्रह्म हविः ब्रह्माग्नौ ब्रह्मणा हुतम् ।
ब्रह्मैव तेन गंतव्यं ब्रह्मकर्म समाधिना ॥

Then God Speaks from Inside which you have to recite though it is HE who says that

अहं वैश्वानरो भूत्वा प्राणिनां देहमाश्रितः।
प्राणापानसमायुक्तः पचाम्यन्नं चतुर्विधम्॥

brahmārpaṇaṃ brahma haviḥ brahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam .
brahmaiva tena gaṃtavyaṃ brahmakarma samādhinā ..

Ahaṃ vaiśvānaro bhūtvā prāṇināṃ deham āśritaḥ,
prāṇāpāna-samāyuktaḥ pacāmy annaṃ catur-vidham

For the karma yogi, the offering is god. The oblation is god. It is god that offers it to the fire of god. In this manner, he realises god and reaches only Him.

BRAHMAN (supreme absolute Awareness) is the oblation; BRAHMAN is the clarified butter, etc. BRAHMAN constitutes the offerings. The oblation is poured into the fire of BRAHMAN by BRAHMAN. BRAHMAN verily shall be reached by him who always sees BRAHMAN in all actions.

Then god Speaks from Inside

I become the fire of life. As supreme absolute Awareness, I enter into the bodies of all creatures. I mingle with the upward and downward breath (prana, apana, Samana, Udana, Vyana Vayus). Through this, I digest the four kinds of food (masticated, drunk, licked, sucked).

Before Study

सरस्वति नमस्तुभ्यं वरदे कामरूपिणि ।
विद्यारम्भं करिष्यामि सिद्धिर्भवतु मे सदा ॥

sarasvati namastubhyaṃ varade kāmarūpiṇi .
vidyārambhaṃ kariṣyāmi siddhirbhavatu me sadā ..

Salutation to you, O Saraswathi. You are the grantor of blessings and the embodiment of all wishes. I am getting inducted to studies. May there be fulfilment for me forever.

Before an important task

वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटि समप्रभ ।
निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा ॥

vakratuṇḍa mahākāya sūryakoṭi samaprabha
nirvighnaṃ kuru me deva sarvakāryeṣu sarvadā

O god with the twisted trunk, broad-bodied, brilliant as thousand suns, bless me with freedom. Remove obstructions and hindrances in all my works and for all times.

Before going to bed

करचरण कृतं वाक्कायजं कर्मजं वा ।
श्रवणनयनजं वा मानसं वापराधं ।
विहितमविहितं वा सर्वमेतत्क्षमस्व ।
जय जय करुणाब्धे श्रीमहादेव शम्भो ॥

karacaraṇa kṛtaṃ vākkāyajaṃ karmajaṃ vā .
śravaṇanayanajaṃ vā mānasaṃ vāparādhaṃ .
vihitamavihitaṃ vā sarvametatkṣamasva .
jaya jaya karuṇābdhe śrīmahādeva śambho ..

O Lord, kindly forgive all the wrong acts and omissions I have committed. Whether I committed them knowingly or unknowingly, please forgive me. I may have committed them with my hands, feet, words, ears, eyes, or mind. Glory to you, Mahadeva, who is the ocean of kindness and compassion, and the cause of happiness.

oṃ sarve bhavantu sukhinaḥ sarve santu nirāmayāḥ .
sarve bhadrāṇi paśyantu mā kaścidduḥkhabhāgbhavet .
oṃ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ ..

May all be happy, may all be free from illness, may all see goodness, may no one suffer.

रामं स्कन्धं हनुमन्तं वैनतेयं वृकोदरं |
शयने यः स्मरेन्नित्यम् दुस्वप्न-स्तस्यनश्यति ‖

rāmaṃ skandhaṃ hanumantaṃ vainateyaṃ vṛkodaraṃ |
śayane yaḥ smarennityam dusvapna-stasyanaśyati ‖

Pray to Lords Rama, Skanda (Subrahmanya), Hanumantha, Vainateya (Garuda), and Bhima before going to bed daily. This practice ensures a peaceful sleep. You will experience no disturbing dreams.
